A rainy-day Rome plan that protects your bookings

Separate booked and flexible stops
Mark confirmed admissions separately from outdoor ideas. Rain does not automatically mean replacing the entire day. Check venue information and forecast before deciding. Keep a booked experience if workable, then change the optional walk around it. Look at the whole group needs rather than trying to preserve every stop at any cost.
Choose an indoor option early
Pick an indoor experience that fits interests and location; check opening and booking conditions. Do not keep a famous museum as a backup without checking entry availability. A smaller achievable alternative can be better than an ambitious replacement across the city. Put its address and conditions in your notes before the trip.
Reduce unnecessary movement
Keep food and alternative activities near the part of town you are using. Plan with current transport information and group walking tolerance. Allow extra time for navigating. A wet day should not depend on multiple tight connections or long walks between unrelated attractions. Change the shape of the day as well as the individual stop.
Keep an affordable fallback
A backup does not need another costly ticket. You can shorten the day, spend longer over a meal or reorganise tomorrow. Record the costs and conditions of alternatives before travel. The workbook keeps those decisions together, so a forecast change does not turn into several rushed purchases that were never part of the budget.
