   Enter at 8:30 opening — the 10am tour buses from Rimini fill this in 20 minutes. The 360° view of the Adriatic is best in morning light.

   Piazza della Libertà

   Changing of the guard happens on the hour in summer. Grab espresso at Café della Piazza before the ceremony crowd.

   Basilica del Santo

   Free entry. Neoclassical marble interior with the relic of St. Marinus — the stonecutter who founded the republic in 301 AD.

   Cesta (Second Tower)

   Short walk from Guaita along Passo delle Streghe (Witches' Pass). Small arms museum inside. Skip the Third Tower unless you're a completist.

   Contrada del Collegio for lunch

   Piadina Romagnola with squacquerone cheese + prosciutto at any hole-in-the-wall. €6-8 vs €18 tourist trap prices on Piazza.

   Cable car down to Borgo Maggiore

   €4.50 return. Wednesday market at the bottom sells Sammarinese wine + tax-free leather. Cash preferred.

   Terme di San Marino (optional day 2)

   Thermal spa 20 min south. Skip if arriving mid-day — reserve for evening (open until 10pm) with sunset view over Rimini coast.
